I grew up on the North-east coast of Scotland, a land of far horizons, sea and mountain views, with fast-changing light. After years of living and working overseas and in the English Midlands, I now live in Angus. I work both en plein air and in my studio, finding light, colour, form and meaning in the urban and rural landscapes around me; in the shape of a building, a reflection in the river, the flight of a bird, patterns in forests, fields and moors.
Seeing and looking. A far horizon gives you instant perspective. When the weather slips down from the mountains, the perspective comes from within.
I exhibit regularly in the UK and overseas, where my work is also held in selected private and public collections.
My work is available to purchase at the Dotty Dog Gallery, Shrewsbury, UK.
